    Our guides are fully qualified to help you explore Snowdonia and Ben Nevis, gaining essential skills and confidence in your mountaineering ability.

    Introduction to Navigation

    Snowdonia, North Wales

    This Mountain Navigation & Hill Skills Course is ideal for anyone who wants to be self sufficient whilst mountaineering in the UK.

    Topics covered:

    Two full days of practical mountain navigation in Snowdonia
    Introduction to different map scales
    How to set the map
    Interpreting contours
    Interpreting key symbols ie how to find a footpath, fence, stream etc
    planning and following a route using paths and other key features

    Hill Walking

    Snowdonia, North Wales.

    If you enjoy the outdoors and are looking for a good dose of the outdoors, exercise and stunning scenery, then joining us on a Hill Walking course will tick all the boxes! Trekking through the iconic landscape, you’ll be sure to enjoy the breathtaking views this trip has to offer. The course may even take in a few of the Welsh summits depending on weather.

    Scrambling Introduction

    Snowdonia

    This Mountain Scrambling Course is ideal for anyone who wishes to gain more confidence on steeper terrain in Snowdonia, North Wales. You would ideally have previous walking experience.

    Route choice
    Scrambling grade 1 will be climbed

    Advanced Scrambling

    This course is ideal for anyone who wants to gain more confidence on scrambling grades 2 and 3, and is bored of walking and easy scrambles in the UK. You would ideally have had scrambling experience in the UK.

    Footwork and technique
    Route choice
    Scrambling grades 2 and above may be climbed

    Adventures in the mountains with your team

    We can provide a fantastic mountaineering experience in North Wales. Depending on what you want to achieve, from the 3 peaks challenge to a team building activity crawling through Lockwood’s chimney, we can provide it.

    Winter skills

    Our Winter Skills course is based in the Glen Coe and Ben Nevis area. This is an ideal course for people who have done some hill walking and who want to learn the essential skills needed to enjoy winter walking. A number of classic Munros may be climbed during the course (depending on weather conditions). A good level of hill walking fitness is required.

    Winter walking

    Snowdonia

    Our Winter Walking course based in Scotland is a continuation of the Winter Skills course (above). This is aimed at those who have already gained the essential skills and simply want to enjoy walking in the winter hills and be self sufficient. Under our expert guidance, you will consolidate your experience without the need to move onto steeper climbing terrain.
    A good level of fitness and confident use of the axe and crampons is required. We operate the course in the Glen Coe and Ben Nevis area of Scotland.

    Please note: You should already have previous summer walking and/or scrambling experience. You will need your own crampons, boots and walking axe, plus the relevant clothing for winter conditions. We can help you source these items.
